Common Terms You'll See at the Live Poker Tables

Ante

The initial wager you place before any cards are dealt. In Casino Hold'em and Caribbean Stud, the ante is mandatory and determines the size of later bets. Texas Hold'em tables may also require an ante in addition to blinds depending on the variant.

Qualifying Hand
